Training Wheels

I remember when I first learned to ride a bike. My Dad put on training wheels so I could ride alone. When my Dad finally took off the training wheels he was either right behind me or beside me until he finally let go and I was riding on my own. I did fall down, but he was right there to pick me up and get me back up on two wheels again.

Our Creator is like my Dad, only He is always there when we take a tumble in life. When we get distracted by all kinds of stimulus we need to know that He is constantly training us to be aware of His presence in our lives.

When I was riding my bike for the first time, I was confident that if I fell, my Dad would be there to help me. We can have that same confidence as we ride along this journey in life. Unlike our earthly fathers who may not always be around, our heavenly Father is ready to listen to us, to share in our joys and problems, and help us cope with whatever we are dealing with. This is how He lives in us and can be our lifeline to peace.

Psalm 112:7 & Isaiah 41:10
