Happy Juneteenth!
Today we celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is a federal holiday celebrated on June 19th that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It specifically marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom, a full two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Another ending slavery we can celebrate every day is freedom from our sins. This free gift from our Creator is something we can often take for granted.
I battle my nature every day, but I’m comforted that if I confess my sins and do my best to turn from them, I am forgiven.
May you be blessed my friends!
Romans 6:18-22, John 8:36, Romans 8:2, Galatians 2:20
