Overcoming Resentment
Resentment is a silent destroyer of peace and joy. It builds when hurt, anger, or bitterness goes unresolved and slowly poisons the heart. Scripture warns us of the dangers of harboring resentment and encourages us to release our burdens to God. Through Christ, we are called to forgive and walk in love, even when it is difficult. By leaning on God’s strength and truth, we can overcome resentment and find healing.
Bitterness takes root when we hold onto offenses and pain. Over time, it can distort our perspective and hinder our relationship with God and others. His Word calls us to uproot bitterness and replace it with kindness and forgiveness. God does not want us weighed down by old wounds. Instead, He offers us peace and healing.
One reason resentment thrives is our desire for revenge or justice. But God is the ultimate Judge, and He sees every wrong. He calls us to leave vengeance in His hands. When we trust Him to handle justice, we can rest in His sovereignty and let go of resentment.
