"Each person must live their life as a model for others." — Rosa Parks

I suspect each of us have had someone in our lives that have been a role model for our lives. If you have been fortunate, you’ve had someone who was a positive role model. Others of us have not been so fortunate; perhaps you grew up in a very dysfunctional family, perhaps a parent who mistreated you.

For the most part, I was fortunate, I had a Dad that was a great role model, he wasn’t perfect, but I always knew I was loved and valued.

I have friends who had very difficult home lives, but most learned what NOT to do by growing up in a less than desirable home environment. They found other role models to try to live up to, a teacher, a professor, perhaps a Pastor or friends parent.

No matter your upbringing, there is always time to change how to be a role model for others in your sphere of influence. The Apostle Paul/formerly Saul, burned down churches and persecuted Christians before he encountered Jesus. He did a total 180 and became one of the greatest human influencers this world has ever known. We don’t have to become Paul to make a difference in others’ lives; we just need to be open to change for the better.

What can you change today to become the best role model you can be?

Wish you all the best this Monday!

Ephesians 4:20-24
