Welcome to the month of August!

“You always have God's undivided attention.”― Charles Stanley

This can be a very scary or encouraging statement depending on where you are on your life’s path. When I was a college student, I believed in God, but I wasn’t walking with God. I was too busy seeking the college life of chasing girls, having fun on 6th street in Austin, going to parties on UT campus. Oh sure, when exam times came up or if I caught the flu, I was asking God for help, but most of the time I’d rather God wasn’t “watching over me”. I preferred He just stay in the background and only come out when I had a request only He could fulfill.

I would bet most of us have at times wondered or asked… “God, where are you? Why are you so far away when I’m in a time of need?” The answer is, He’s right there with you as He has been since you were born. If God seems far away, He hasn’t moved, you moved away from Him.

If you are feeling that God is far away, perhaps you can take a very short trip to get closer to God, i.e. drop down approximately 18 inches to the floor, on your knees, God will be more than happy to meet you right there.
