"Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will." - Zig Ziglar
For the most part, I’m a glass is half full type of person. I try to see the best in people, the best in situations that are challenging. My Kryptonite is when I drive, I usually think the worst which I suppose has kept me safe, i.e. defensive driving.
In both personal and professional life, you may have had similar experiences as me, I’ve seen many whose first thought is negative. My wife and I balance each other out. Her first response is typically negative and mine is positive which at times can be frustrating, but in others, I need my wife to bring me back to reality if I get too positive about things.
I get a kick out of game days when our board freaks out when we get our first 3 and out and the pitch forks and torches come out towards our coaches or players. Thankfully so far this season we haven’t seen much of that. But negative attitude people can be a real drain on our mental health. As I have gotten older, I have begun separating myself from negative people. Life is too short to submit yourself to such negativity. Life throws at us enough challenges to be constantly bombarded by bad attitudes.
My hope and prayer for y’all is to recognize those who are bringing you down and put some space between you and them. All you can do if you are around them is to try to be a light in their darkness.
Proverbs 15:13, Luke 12:25, Matthew 5:14-16
