Indeed. It takes very little insight or imagination to see how Mr. Sam's remark applies to our dealings with other people. Sometimes we decide that can speed up the growth and development of the people around us, by insisting that they do what we think is best, with little regard to their own traits and choices. It's pretty easy to tear down someone else's idea or creation, but unless we have something better to offer, or at least a constructive suggestion, then all we've done is destroy.
Quite often the greatest evidence of love we can offer is to accept our loved ones as they are. They need not do everything our way in order to have value (reverse the roles; it's equally true). We all make different contributions, and God can use us all. See 1 Corinthians 12; "if the whole body were an eye, how would you hear?"
