I think its good for the player but, bad for a Team, everyone wants to play I know but, I hate to put a lotta stock in a freshman QB if Sam gets hurt and then we have none ready, A freshman QB will end our season...I think Shane was our best backup to Sam, now he gone, so who's gonna fill them shoes when Sam gets hurt and we are 2 TD's behind? Who ya gonna call? They ought to say a QB can't leave till 4 yrs are up, thenn you would be stuck with who ya committed to for real!

So you think that a QB shouldn't ever be allowed to leave a school, but other position players can? I don't like this trend of players transferring either, but to say that a QB can't leave until his four years are up isn't fair or realistic. Buechele was a given to transfer. I'm not sure why anyone was surprised when he announced that he was leaving. Now Rising and possibly Thompson transferring is surprising. And no, this isn't "Herman's fault" why they're transferring.
No players can transfer or go to NFL till they Graduate, or you will never get a steady team They transferred cause they wanted to play I guess.....NFL is trying to put that together now what the news said, Herman should not have got them if he was not gonna play them, just like Sumlin and Murrey

Yes, it would have been good for Rising and/or Thompson to have played last season, but there really wasn't much of an opportunity to get them in games. All of Texas' games were close and contested to the end.
That's like saying Mack Brown never should have brought in Colt McCoy because we didn't give him any reps as a true freshman behind Vince Young.
Even Alabama consistently loses QBs to transfer, FBH. There isn't anything Herman is doing wrong, and there isn't some magical way of preventing all QBs from ever wanting to leave.
Remember when we talked about how the "four game and redshirt" wasn't really going to help us this year? We have to get to the point where it will help us.
I think that it did help for some of the non-QB positions. Scholz posted a chart in one of the threads that showed who played four games or less and who redshirted.
