don't take it.. My friends son that worked with Heupel said he is a complete dick to work with.

A poster said he's heard he'll interview for a Co-OC job this week with an SEC school (not A&M).

I'll let you know if anything else comes of it.

Today /
The interview is at Mizzou.

Inside Texas saying they're hearing this as well.

Interesting. Not sure what his official title is here to know if that's an upgrade. I would certainly rather be at Texas than Missouri. I assume they mainly want him for recruiting purposes.

I would suspect if he stays he gets a decent raise, no way Charlie wants to be looking for another coach right now.

From what I can tell, this interview might have been set up before the sterlin deal went down. Traylor felt like strong was not getting any support and his days were numbered. I think it has made a drastic turn in Charlie's favor so lets hope he is just going through the motions.

Agree with Wasatch to just pay him. You don't want to lose his recruiting nor be looking for his replacement right now. It makes sense if the interview was setup during the meltdown that happened over the weekend, but they just need to give him a raise and move forward. It's not like co-OC at Mizzou is too good to pass up.

Good. I will be satisfied with keeping our remaining offensive staff intact and at least replacing the DL coach (I'm not a Bedford fan either, but I don't see Strong hiring 2 new coordinators this year).

Who do you give that title to? Bedford? Not Gilbert he's already locked in.

Traylor is a dynamic coach and is going to be a hot name for OC jobs every year.

No to mention but he's been our best recruiter this year and forsure in the 17 class.
Why do you give that title to anyone?

What experience does he have that's gonna suddenly take him from 1st year college TE coach to Hot Commodity OC?

Yeah, he's a great recruiter with his connections, but nothing else in your post makes any sense.

He had a huge impact on our offense when Norvell took over. Traylor implemented his same running game from Gilmer.

If anything "made sense" on offense this season it was our running game. I'd say it "makes sense" that it was our only bright spot this year, and it "makes sense" for us to build our offense of the future off of last years running game.

Pretty much everyone out there is ready to pay the man. Except for you little bitty.

Oh btw he's interviewing for Colorado OC job this week.

You sir, are the one who's not making any sense.

If he goes it will signal he thinks Strong is in trouble. Taylor is probably the OC here in two years. If sterling does the job he's probably a HC somewhere.
Odds are Heupel knew him from recruiting at OU and told Odem lets just see if he will come.

Promotion just in title. This co OC deal is just a raise and title. The OU boy will call the plays. Take care of the money and theft is no problem
If he stays here, he's getting a promotion just in title. He won't leave for nothing.

I am all for coach Traylor....but he has to do what is best for his career. With our new OC calling the plays, and Mattox calling the running plays and Norval coaching the WR,s .....what will Traylor do that will reflect well on a resume'?....If he coaches the tight ends and special teams like last year is that enough?

Frankly, we need the guy's ability to recruit. I hope we dont lose him. Am I missing something? Speed or Coach, help me out here.

His ties to TX HS coaches are extremely influential. He's still very respected and comes to all the conventions and hangs around shaking hands and talking to everybody for hours.
We need his recruiting, and he's also a dang good coach.

I mentioned above giving him the AHC title and raising his salary to try and keep him around. AHC's vary in roles and responsibilities but they usually handle most of the behind the scenes stuff, team meetings, over see other ops, and delegate work sent down from the HC. Your pretty much the HC's right hand man and the go to man when the HC isn't around.

Being a AHC would look good on a resume. A Co-OC or OC would look better. I wouldn't blame him for leaving and advancing his career.

Inside Texas saying Coach Traylor will be interviewing at Mizzou tomorrow

Forgive me for being a little hesitant to accept good news from the Texas pay sites after last week's sh*t-show. But I'm very happy to hear these reports nonetheless. Pay the man!
