Trump’s proposal of banning all Muslims from entering the United States and removing all Muslims who are currently here is not as extreme as it sounds when the overall context is considered. Even if it is extreme according to politically correct thinkers it is certainly not extreme to be certain our country is safe. Franklin Delano Roosevelt instituted an even stricter policy during World War II by preventing immigration from Germany, Japan, and Italy as well as placing Japanese citizens in internment camps for the duration of the war. There was no domestic terror or sabotage that I know of during World War II. Like it or not, and whether we admit it or not, we are at war with Islam - or should be. Islam is at war with us. Islam is not a religion of peace. As to discrimination based on religion, for the left to use this as an argument against Trump’s proposals is hypocritical at best. Christians have been discriminated against in this country since at least 1963 and there is no outcry against this by the left. Since then we cannot pray publicly or in schools, and more recently we are not to say Merry Christmas (and forbidden by Obama at VA facilities), the 10 Commandments cannot be posted on public property, the manger scene cannot be displayed on public property, and we are supposed to say “season’s greetings” NOT Merry Christmas. It is essentially taboo to say Jesus or God publicly on television or radio. I have read that the words Jesus and God have been deleted by editors when recorded speeches were edited for television or radio. This is most certainly discrimination against Christians - and Christians are not a domestic terror threat. And frankly, this country was founded by Christian immigrants and is based on a morality from God. However, “One nation under God”, “In God we Trust”, etc. are now thought to be taboo. It is not politically correct perhaps to say all Muslims should be removed from and prevented from coming into the United States. We should not be willing to sacrifice our safety and survival, however, in order to be politically correct. Whether religion, ethnicity, race, political affiliation, or any other factor poses an overt threat to the safety of our nation such group should be excluded from our society. If we wish to survive and be safe, we better learn to be strong and perhaps extreme pretty quick. Obama has referred to his Islamic religion, has indicated his most beautiful sound is the Islamic call to prayer, is trying to force thousands of Muslims into this country at the present time, and has himself been essentially unconstitutional for his entire presidency. Such examples include not only refusing to enforce immigration law (his constitutional duty) but in fact preventing immigration agents from enforcing the law themselves. He has also stepped way out of line by issuing “executive orders” to a degree much as would a dictator. Of course, Congress will do nothing about it nor will the courts. His attorney general has even threatened to prosecute people who criticize Islam. My judgment tells me that Obama is a traitor and has committed treason - I think history will support that. Unusual perhaps but Trump’s recommendation is probably the only thing that will save our culture. Islam is dangerous, it is not a religion of peace.
