I can't understand how Texas can have 2 main sports going belly up at same time after all these yrs, what next to take a hike Baseball? Where is all these studs and Star guys we been hearing and lucky to have got?
They nearly doubled us up in second-half scoring. Same tired old sh*t.
Anyone want to tell FBH how the baseball team did last year?
FB, let's hope that coach Pierce, gets baseball going this year. While we started out great in the beginning last year, the wheels came off and Texas finished in last place and missed the Big 12 tournament. Zero excuse for that!
Makes you wonder what's going on in Austin and why the big 3 mens sports can't seem to consistently win anymore. I think it is bigger than the individual teams and coaches. It's something outside the locker room or even outside the athletic department.
We’ve had terrible leadership in the AD for most of the past decade. DeLoss wasn’t interested in any accountability measures for years before he stepped down, Patterson was the worst hire imaginable, and then we spent way too much time with a caretaker/interim AD with zero experience between firing sh*tbird Steve and hiring CDC.
This isn’t the only factor, but I think it’s a major one. An athletics administration that exhibits some combination of complacency regarding performance, hostility to its own coaches’ needs, an apparent mission to alienate core supporters, and impotence and lack of direction over a long period of time is probably not going to sustain a lot of high-performing programs.
