It bears reminding that when Jordan occupied East Jerusalem, they evicted every last Jew and destroyed the ancient synagogues. Under Israeli rule, Muslim worshippers are not only protected but are given exclusive control over their holy sites.
Even if you ignore ancient history, Jerusalem has been majority Jewish since as far back as 1875.
Sadly the historical revisionism over Jerusalem and Israel as a whole is becoming accepted as truth throughout Europe.
