Utah

11-0 against unranked teams
0-2 against ranked teams

They're not as good as the committee wants you to believe.

Guess you didnt watch the Tech game, Orlando FINALLY moved his ends out of the 4i to the 5 technique.

We had 4 sacks that game.
I was in France streaming it and sometimes I'd have to reset the page and would miss a few plays. I guess I missed most of those sacks as well. Regardless, an 11-2 team vs a 7-5 team is not a compelling match up. Let's do a deep dive on some stats and see how we stack up with them.

Personally I think we should have declined all bowl invitations cause we didn't earn the right to play in one.
Well ya actually we did with 7 wins. I’m so sick of hearing this. An extra month of practice and another game is a really good stepping stone in getting prepared for next season. Not too mention we got matched up with a really good football team in Utah. Maybe they will come out and surprise us like they did last year against Georgia.

The extra month of practice is vital. People don't realize how much more work you can get in with an extra month of work. Think about it-- you don't get this much work with spring football.

Does the new Offensive and Defensive coordinators (whoever they will be) start installing during bowl prep to get a head start or do they wait until the spring?

I really do understand your frustration with my attitude. But from the coaching staff on down to the players I don't trust this team anymore.

Did you watch any of their games besides the Oregon game? They're a damn good team and they're very well coached. IMO if Texas beats them, it will be a surprise.

They didn't get where they are playing Oregon for nothing, them guys are good, they just self destructed against O..

Have we officially hired anyone yet?

Nope, just wondering how that would work. Would they wait until the spring or start now once they are hired? I would think they would want to start coaching immediately and take advantage of the extra practices. Though I can see how they would not want to trot out a half ass attempt of their schemes with not much time to practice and look like crap either...

Maybe the hires will be delayed until after the bowl game.

In a perfect world we are able to pick up the Defensive alignments specific to situational down and distances etc. But I don't know what Tom will do in this instance.

How’s that? Remember it’s not a fan that puts in the work. Plenty of seniors have gone through changes in personnel that have put in time, effort and sacrifice being a student.

You're correct. But otoh this particular senior class showed terrible leadership both on and off the field.

Malcolm Roach getting kicked out of the OK game for targeting. Later in the season at ISU w when they tried their fist game winning kick from 42 yards with 2 minutes to go Roach jumped offsides giving them a 2nd chance from a closer distance and to run down the clock and I'm sure you remember the rest. And then after the Baylor game Roach pointed fingers at the offense and Ehlinger in particular.

Then there's Zach Shackelford. He was the lone returning starter in the ol and like Roach another captain. All year long the ol did not show the poise and focus you need from your ol. I'd hate to see the number of penalties they got called for. It came to a head in the Baylor game. At the end of the game ZS got called for stepping on a Baylor player it was there on camera you couldn't miss it. Then Parker Braun gets tossed for cussing a zebra. Not to be outdone Derek Kerstetter for called for a personal foul. All in one play. Darrell Royal must have been turning in his grave. All season long the ol had not played with composure and our finally showed it's ugly head in the Baylor game. And that's why i think Roach and ZS should have their captaincy taken away for them in the AB.

And why we're so many seniors injured this year. Look i know some injuries can't be helped an acl is a good example. But when a group of 4 and 5 year players get injured that's an indication that these seniors were not working out in the off season like they should have been. They set a bad example for the younger players the evidence is overwhelming. The only only senior who train took his game to the next level was Duvernay.

After the SB win over GA everyone from the coaches on down to the players thought we works win big not only that they thought it would be easy. They forgot how hard they had to work to achieve what we did last year. That's why to some extent we got what we deserved this year.

Can't disagree with that Cali. But we gotta flip the script. And hopefully some extra practices will help.

With all that said staying home because of a few doesn’t help the future either.

Believe it or not I respect your opinions you have a point. None of us know what's going on behind closed doors. We've heard that that guy Meninger was a cancer in the locker room but how much?

Who was in charge this year? Herman? Beck? Meninger? To many cooks in the kitchen? Probably. But I still believe in Coach Herman. I think he's trying to plan for the future. But we haven't been on top for awhile now. Maybe Coach Herman needs to do something creative something different and have the confidence to do it. He's already fired 3 asst coaches if he deems it necessary for more so be it.

I hope clob94 is right about the extra practices. This year I actually turned off 3 different games including OK. But I know in 3 weeks I will NYE cheering for the horns to take down the Utes.

Georgia is better then Utah and we took them to the shed. Our team is capable of hanging with anyone in the country. If we show up like we are suppose to we will tear the other mormons up.
