Sure you do, you make up for by winning the game, and that's what they did. These kids aren't robots, they aren't going to make every single play. When you play hard like Brooks does you get a little bit of forgiveness IMO.
I believe if do a rewatch you will se couple of times Collins or another DL chase down a Baylor RB from the opposite side on a pitch before the RB can get 2 yards up field. And 1 or 2 of those was late in a game. Same intensity late in a game when up 28. Thats culture and that is a big change.
I might get accused of blasphemy but he reminds me of Cedric Benson for some reason. He rarely gets stopped behind the line, he doesn’t get squared up often, and 1 guy isn’t bringing him down.
If it is okay to blaspheme, then I will compare him to Jamal Charles if we have former Texas backs to choose from. Or perhaps a better description would be “Jamal Charles-ish”
Charles had wheels. I haven't seen this cat show those kind of wheels yet. Maybe he has them-- time will tell.
The run at the end of the Alabama game where he carried 2 defenders 2/12 tards for the first of two key first downs was really nice and then the draw up the middle was icing on the cake. He's a solid back and getting better with each game.

Yes, but other than the top end speed speed, his movements remind me of how JC looked and slashed Same with Benson, Brooks doesn’t have the power of Benson
I can definitely see that. In the open field, the way he moves does look a lot like JC. I went with the Cedric comparison because I was watching him run in traffic. He's starting to show the power to run through guys and get into open field.
Cedric would have 10 carries for 36 yards in the first half.
Love Brooks but I still believe Blue is an elite back. He missed his senior year and was the #1/ 2 back in the country and while he did have 1 fumble really feel he is a more dynamic back and better out of the backfield than is Baxter. I would like to see him get a few more touches moving forward.

hey dip! i coach at one of those schools. they've been winning here for 30 years, and even though it looks ugly right now, we're gonna win 2-3 state championships in the next 4 years (not counting this year, and if newton doesn't move down). so brooks wasn't all we had. we lost 10 starters on both sides of the ball. at 2a that's a killer for anybody.
