After a disappointing showing Sunday at S Carolina, the Longhorns (16-2, 3-1) are back on the road to take on Auburn (9-8, 0-4) Thursday evening.
A lot of familiar faces on the opposing sideline tonight:
Auburn averages 16.6 turnovers a game but in their matchup against Ol' Miss, a very similar team to the Longhorn in defensive style, they gave the ball away 29 times. Harris is an elite post player coach and has collected some impressive size to the Auburn roster with 4 players 6' 4" or taller but 3 of the 4 are sophomores and are still trying to figure it out on the floor. Other than DeYona and Taliah Scott, no Tiger is averaging more than 8.7 points per game.
Texas needs to get back on track against Auburn because the next 3 games are against #8 Maryland (neutral site), #15 Tennessee, and @ Ol' Miss (receiving votes).

- Auburn HC Johnnie Harris - a longtime Vic assistant dating back to their time as assistants at aggy, Johnnie was his associate HC at Miss State and the associate HC at Texas during the 2020-2021 season before taking the main job at Auburn
- Assistant Coach Ketara Chapel - Coordinator of Player Development at Texas during the 2020-2021 season after playing for Vic at Miss St and serving 2 years as a grad assistant there
- Associate HC Damitria Buchanan - Played for Vic and Johnnie at aggy
- Assistant Coach Savannah Carter - Played at Trinity Valley CC for Elena Lovato (current Texas associate HC) winning the juco national title and then transferred to play for Vic at Miss St
- Athletic Trainer Rosemary Ragle - Texas WBB Trainer from 2021-2023
- Forward DeYona Gaston- Played 4 seasons (106 games) at Texas under Vic, All-Big12 1st team in 2022-2023, Big12 6th Player of the Year in 2023-2024
- Deyona is the leading scorer (22.3 ppg), rebounder (8.4) and shot blocker (1.4) for the Tigers

- @ #6 LSU (63-73)
- Arkansas (58-59)
