Jordan, the #9 recruit in the 2024 class, moved to Austin earlier this month but departed shortly after for Colombia to play in the U18 AmeriCup. She started all 6 games for the US and played 36:48 during the Final - that's a lot of floor time (USA teams sub players very liberally due to the talent gap). In that Final game, the 6' SG had multiple key plays in the 3rd quarter as Team Canada was pushing Team USA and stuffed the stat sheet:
  • 9 points
  • 6 boards
  • 3 assists
  • 3 steals
  • 2 blocked shots
For me, this really bolsters my projection that Jordan is going to remind us a lot of Celeste Taylor. Both were highly rated but when it came to international play, started and played far more minutes than more highly ranked players because they play so hard and well on both ends of the court.

It's been a while since it happened but I get nervous whenever Texas has an incoming player participate in these events after what happened to She Who Shall Not be Named in the 2018 AmeriCup. Really glad to see her return to campus healthy.
