WBB: What happened to the ladies?

They were on a tear, ranked as high as 6th in the nation ... and then lost 3, and then another. Did someone get injured? The flu? Normal peaking and then getting over-confident?

Anyone know what happened there?

A lot of really tough games in a short time frame took their toll I think. Having a couple weeks off before NCAA will help.

I think they might have had a big mental letdown after finally beating Baylor in Waco. I watched yesterday - they are still very talented, Holmes has flashes of dominance and is going to be great, and McCarty is the fastest player in the league. But they are very young. The season is very long for young teams - a couple of weeks off before the NCAA tournament my be just what they need to regroup.

Young teams do mature because there's not much of an exit to pro's.

That's one of the good things about women's basketball. You get to see teams mature and get better because there isn't a hurry to leave.
