Tuesday 11 a.m. update - I didn't get this posted yesterday. Linebacker Tyler Taylor, who visited UT on Memorial Day weekend, cut his list to six. Texas did not make the cut. Keep an eye out for Oklahoma in this one, from what I'm hearing.

Monday 4:30 pm update
- Per the mother of Robert Beal, he did not make it to UT today for his unofficial visit, as originally planned. No word yet on if Beal will reschedule.

When the Texas Longhorns offered twin brothers Joshua Moore and Jordan Moore following a recent UT mini-camp, it was Jordan Moore that walked away from the Texas campus publicly listing Texas as his leader.

Jordan, who returned to Austin for a second mini-camp on June 12, listed Texas as his “dream school.” Joshua was a little more subdued. While he admitted that he really liked the Longhorns, the standout receiver mentioned a handful of schools that were standing out, including Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas A&M.

In talking to Joshua a second time, after he had a little time to think over the Texas offer, it sounds like the Longhorns are in very good shape for him as well.

Key quote: “They’re at the top of my list right now,” Joshua said. “I’m just not the type of person like Jordan is. We’re different. I like to lay low.”

On the UT camp visit: Joshua, a 6-3, 173-pounder and a four-star prospect, said he enjoyed the visit to the Forty Acres during his camp appearance. Equally important, his mother enjoyed the stop. Moore’s mother is a Texas graduate, which he said could play a factor should he eventually decide to commit to the Longhorns.

“Just everything,” Moore said when asked what stood out about the UT visit. “Coach (Charlie) Strong, he’s great man. Coach (Jeff) Traylor, he’s great. I just love everything about UT.”

Other visits: Moore recently visited Georgia while in the state for the Rivals.com Underclassmen Challenge, which was held in Atlanta. This summer he plans to visit Texas A&M, TCU, Alabama, Washington and Washington State.

It will be a busy summer schedule, but don’t look for Moore to make any quick decisions. With more than 18 months remaining before the 2018 prospect will sign, Moore said he wants to take his time with the recruiting process and he’ll likely take it into his senior year.

Early consideration: The Longhorns may have the early lead, but Moore is keeping an open mind and isn’t ruling anyone out.

As for the schools nipping at UT’s heels, Moore listed Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Florida State and TCU.

Versatile player: Like his brother, Joshua is a talented prospect on either side of the ball. Most schools are looking at him as a wide receiver, where his ability to make plays downfield has colleges playing close attention.

“I’m a great vertical threat. I can burn you deep easily,” Moore said. “On defense, I’ll get in your face. I just want to improve on my ball skills, my route running, just make everything crisp.”

The brothers want to attend the same college.
