I am the fantasy commissioner of a 10-team league. Everybody pays $100 to play, and another member of the league handles the money. Just found out today one league member wrote a check back in September but kept telling the guy who handles the money not to cash it. So they're friends, he let it go and didn't tell me. He finally got the approval to cash the check this week, but when he did, it bounced. The check writer isn't returning phone calls. The guy who handles the money actually paid the fantasy winners back in December, which means he is actually screwed out of $100.
Part of me feels bad that the guy doesn't have $100 in his bank account and maybe I shouldn't say anything. Another part of me feels like he screwed somebody out of money and that's not right.
How would you handle this situation?
