I am not wanting to have this turn into a heated discussion or attack of anyone’s political views, but I think the majority of our Country shares the middle and am curious if this board does. I think Trump won the Presidency because people were voting against Hilary and I think Biden won because people were voting against Trump. The far left progressive democrats (Bernie, Elizabeth Warren, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) and the far right republicans (Trump, Ron DeSantis) are very vocal and drive TV ratings and therefore get way too much press. The large middle seems to be mostly silent in public (out of self interest for re-election or being ostracized within their party). I am a life long republican, but I do not like what is going on in either party right now. The devisiveness is terrible and I don’t think either party is espousing the majority of this country’s values and beliefs. I actually think that if the democrats nominate a progressive in 2024 and the republicans nominate Trump, a moderate in the middle (like Joe Manchin or Mitt Romney) would have a pretty decent chance of winning the Presidency by running as an independent and drawing large numbers of voters in the middle from both parties and independents.
