If Clemson were to get upset on Saturday, just about everything I read assumes Ohio St or Stanford (assuming they beat USC) slides into the playoff. I've even seen some speculation that Clemson could still get in.
But what about North Carolina? Their resume isn't great, but their lone loss was by 4 points on the road in the 1st game of the season. They would be ACC champs and on a 12 game winning streak, fresh off beating the #1 team in the nation.
That's a better resume than either Bama or Ohio State can boast.
Maybe I am missing something, but I don't understand how they wouldn't even be considered if they win on Saturday. Of course it's all speculation as to what the committee is thinking, but it sure seems that UNC has little chance unless they pull an Ohio St vs Wisconsin on Clemson.
