86% of U.S. airports have more TSA personnel engaged in "full-time union work" instead of conducting screening duties, according to DHS.
Consequently, out of 432 federalized airports, 374 have fewer than 200 TSA Officers available for screening functions, with these government-paid officers working full-time on union matters without maintaining certification for screening tasks, per DHS statements.
