I just have an observation that has been bothering me for a while and have to get it off my chest. Hopefully this is cathartic. I know there is plenty of blame to go around and I’m not sure who deserves this part of it but…… if ur offensive line is having trouble with penetration why are running plays that take so long to develop. This goes for run and pass. On pass plays, they obviously weren’t falling for the eye candy. Play option fakes and the movement after the snap in the backfield just allowed The def line to penetrate further before Quinn was able to scan the field. Almost every sack occurred during these plays. Early in the game, when we delivered the ball quickly, we moved the ball up and down the field. On running plays most of our early success came on runs between the tackles. U can’t have success on stretch plays when the defense is 3 yds in the backfield before u can clear. 2 things that limit Quinn are that when he doesn’t have time, he’s does not have the urgency needed to get the ball out. I’m not sure if it just takes him longer to scan the field or if he just gets happy feet. 2nd, too many balls have too much air under them. When ur against a defense as fast as UGA, a lot of these balls need to be delivered in a hurry so the defense doesn’t have time to react. All of the above is exacerbated in the red zone. The windows are too small stare down the receiver and float balls. Anyway, we still have our goals in front of us and i know we’re building special here.
