Will Anderson quote

you ever win the lottery, i want you to drive down the highway with the window open and put the winning ticket on the dashboard. in fact, just do it with your next paycheck-- not even lottery numbers. give me a break with that quitting on your team bullsh.

That’s exactly what it is.

This sort of self-centered ego-centrism that you and others espouse, more than any other factor, epitomizes everything that is wrong with our society today.

we're not going to agree on this.
I agree with you on most things, but you’re correct, not in this.

I’ll just say this. If your team isn’t good enough for you to risk injury for because you’re not in the playoff, why play week 12? Hell, why not “opt out”(fancy term for quit) after the Oklahoma State game? It’s obvious you weren’t going to make the playoffs.

Everybody’s so worried about risking injury, but nobody has a problem with putting a kid with limited driving experience behind the wheel of Lamborghini ffs. Btw, since I’m already a millionaire, putting that lottery ticket on the dash of my Lambo doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, does it?

I guess players could fake an injury or not give much effort in the last game. At least by opting out, they are giving other players to prepare, shine and get some playing time. Being on the sidelines shows more team attitude than skipping the game and partying somewhere.
I get the decision they make. Coaches do it, too. Two sides to the story.
