Will Notre Dame get a free pass?

The Big 12 was essentially punished when it came to the final playoff rankings last season for not having a 13 game (a conference championship game).

If Notre Dame goes undefeated, will they get a free pass for not having to play a conference championship and be pardoned into the playoffs?

I guess it depends, but I doubt an undefeated ND is left out.

Lot of games before they're undefeated. That said, yes, they will be punished.

If Stanford and USC play like they did yesterday, not too worried about an undefeated Irish team.

Notre Dame without their starting QB won't go undefeated. USC and Stanford are both likely losses. Also this is the weakest Notre Dame schedule in a long time. They'll get no browny points for strength of schedule.
