All hypothetical, but a four team playoff would have likely been No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Texas and I could be wrong but I think the committee is could have put ND at No. 4 over a two loss Penn State. They may have even pushed up to the four seed in that scenario.
I know they beat us twice, but I find it hard to believe Georgia could beat us again with their backup QB if we were actually prepared to play him. Don’t think ND has enough firepower to beat us either. So it would come down to Oregon and I’m not sure. They certainly didn’t look great against OSU but we’ve looked pretty mediocre for stretches too.
