If my son had a sure fire scholarship. I would sit him out to avoid an injury. Why take a chance to lose his chance of college football. Would you chance it??? Be honest?

If you're a good enough player, the school will tell you that if you verbally commit and walk out the door of the coaches office five minutes later and fall down the stairs and break your neck, they will still honor the verbal agreement. Or at least that's what Grant Taeff told me.

Pussy stuff. Slap in the face to team. Poor TEAMmate.

Yeah I remember a Texas OLine recruit named Marco? Got cheap shot in knee in Army All American game and never seen a down for Texas. Wonder how Jaquindon Jackson feels about now? Grant Teaff lied! Friday Night Lights Boobie Miles perfect example of injury and schools drop you like a hot potato.

If Jackson is disappointed he decided to try and win a state title instead of quitting on his team, then he's never going to amount to anything at UT anyway. Seriously, would you ever go to battle for a QB that quit football in high school the day he committed?

If the knee is ok, play. If torn acl, no play.

A committed player must have his scholarship honored. If uncommitted, that’s on him.

I say verbally commit to a school & play. Freak accidents happen. The same player could get injured in Spring ball & never see a down of college football. At least the player has his education to fall back on.

Nowadays with social media, if a school commits to giving you scholarship even if you get injured during your senior season--- a player should go on social media and post "because they told me if I became injured during my last year, I'm committing to the University of XYZ because they are just as committed to my academic career as they are my athletic career......" Blah blah blah. And of course, the coaching staff is going to comment on that in an affirmative way, because it's good press for them.

And BOOM-- you've got your four years.
