Turned on Nexfix last night and You Gotta Believe was the #2 movie. It sounded interesting with Luke Wilson as the lead and it was a true story about a 2002 little league BB team in Fort Worth, where I grew up. I watched it, but won’t spoil the movie if any of you want to watch it.
Turns out Luke played the role of Bobby Ratliff, who was a friend and fraternity brother of mine. He lived on the same street that I grew up on and later was a director of the same company I was cfo and general counsel of. In the movie he was coaching a West Side Lions little league bb team, which was the league I grew up playing in. I don’t recall ever watching a movie about one of my friends, which of course was very interesting to me. The movie was true as best I remember reality playing out back then. I’m not exactly sure why I’m telling y'all this, but it was surreal for me.
