Anybody ever give money to any Fraternal Order of Police Charities? Back before I started blocking all my calls in the early 2000's I can remember getting these call and being tempted. Turns out they were all pretty much scams run by companies that would hire drug addicts and ex convicts to call people and convince them to donate to a charity where only about 10% went to the actual organization they were contracted to call for. Telemarketers is a 3 partt HBO documentary that follows a couple of ex employees of one of the bigger telemarketing companies in the North East part of the country who decide to try and expose the entire Telemarketing industry. I highly recommend it.
