I tore my Achilles almost 2 years ago and in the ensuing surgery (or possibly in the associated nerve block), my nerve was damaged and a significant amount of neuropathy. I've been to quite a few doctors and therapy since then (including another surgery), but it's likely permanent. I can still walk, but it has significantly reduced my quality of life. I was sued myself for a car wreck when I was 20 that had me looking at bankruptcy options for a while. As a result, I swore to myself that I would never sue unless it was very significant. I've put this off for a long time as a result (and hoping I would find a cure). But this is very significant. So a few questions for anyone that might know:
- I know Texas isn't friendly for malpractice suits, so is something like this just wasting my time?
- Would this cause issues with receiving treatment anywhere in the future? I've never seen a question asking about suing for medical malpractice, but I can't say I've read every disclaimer perfectly.
- Who would be a good medical malpractice attorney in the Houston area?
This board is amazing at providing insight on random things like this. I hope to at least get some clarity on this. BTW. I'm always open to additional treatment advice as I would much rather get better than sue (x1000).
