Real Estate History Question

When did fireplaces become so common in Texas.

For context, From the 70's-80's, my family lived in a home built in the 60's. It did not have a fireplace. Most of the homes in the neighborhood were the same as were a lot of the others built in that era.

Then from the late 70's on, it seemed that all houses were built with a fireplace. What gives?

I understand the reasoning for this for homes built prior to electricity and stable utilities, but from that time on it seems that it is not a necessity here.

The search for a condo in West Campus has me asking this question as most that were built in 80's and 90's have a fireplace.

Realtors and architects enlighten me please.

McCarthy calls Gaetz on tantrums

It may be political suicide but bravo to McCarthy for averting a shut down. Matt Gaetz is a clown leading a circus of representatives in safe districts that follow Donald Trump. They are a foreshadowing of what a second Trump administration would look like: A complete dysfunctional disaster.

There’s some hope that adults in the room were tired of the clowns on both the left and right and will move towards a system that controls the debt to reasonable levels and avoid these last minute political shit shows. If so, McCarthy has shown political courage unlike anything we have seen in a generation.

And, by the way, Gaetz has now equaled Adam Schiff for most punchable face.

WTH!

Not only is crime in America NOT going down, but it's getting more evil than we could imagine. Just wait until the thousands of Terrorist the Big Guy and his Handlers have let into our country, by way of a wide-open Border, decide it's time to reign terror on us!

Wow. Crumbley's parents get 10-15 year sentences

This is all pretty amazing to me. I see both sides of the coin, but I also don't see any of today's crime ridden cities holding parents responsible for the actions of their child.

I would love all parents everywhere to be held responsible. But they aren't.

Cowboys - this week's drama.....

I really don't have any opinion, nor do I really care - Just throwing this up for discussion because we need something to talk/laugh about after the eclipse.
