Just remembering, we had a cell stall over the Medina River watershed in 1978 and had a "500 year" flood, that killed 39 people. Places on the Medina watershed received 48 inches in 24 hours. Huge Cypress trees were hundreds of yards from the regular riverbanks.
Then the same cell stalled over the Albany area, causing big flooding and many more deaths.

What has happened in North Carolina has happened before...
Tragic, yes. Some climate change driven event, not really.
