I do not know what was said at Half time but the D looked different and played like it.I thought the play of the DL was a major Key in winning the game.If they continue then they should be in any ballgame they play,

Tap the breaks...lets see how they do against a spread team..I mean, we don't have that many left on the schedule...right ???

You have to start somewhere right? Let me guess.. you can do better from your couch?
We have much improvement to make. We played well in the 2nd half compared to other games this season. Still---- not really as well as our expectations SHOULD be-- but comparatively speaking-- we played "better".

We most definitely have a ways to go but one game at a time is how I see it. Tired of seeing we are too young next year crap. Confidence builder game goes a long ways in young minds.

KSU is pretty much the same team as ISU...there is no excuse to not beat them next week.

Except that they are 6-1 against us at KSU and we have our only win in 2002 so no they are not like ISU. A road win against them is a huge improvement.
Yes...they are like ISU this year..I watched the whole OU KSU game and they mirror what ISU has done. ...this team is too young to have participated in any of those 6 home losses...no more excuses for this team.

This was the best performance our defense has had this year.

Why, is it that we played so well in this game?

Excuses I don't accept.
It was ISU. No. they played better in this game than they did against UTEP a team that is inferior to this team. ISU has a good offense and can move the ball very well. They QB is damn near great, I really like that kid. This was the first time we imposed our will. Also this was the first time we didn't miss a lot of tackles.

Played for their coach.
They have been playing for Charlie Strong all year and for the last 3 losses have looked lost. In all of our losses we looked down right pitiful. Saturday we looked like a defense that knew what they are doing.

Demoted their DC.
This has always been Charlie Strong's defense, the DC is an extension of Charlie Strong. Bedford was a scapegoat for Charlie.

Here is my thought. The difference was the wristbands. For once our DBs looked like they knew what they were doing and did it with authority. My thought is this, maybe we should have used those damn wrist bands earlier in the year we might not have lost to feCal or OSU, or maybe blOwU for that matter.

Yea....a blind penguin could have called that defense. So yes...I could

Ehhh ok there buddy. I assume you don't coach D1 or 2 and I'll go ahead and assume no one on this board does. You're just like the rest of us with opinions, some facts and hopes.

The fourth quarter was nothing but hungry freshmen on defense. The kids were flying to the ball and pushing the OL back on their heels.

The D played Cover 1 and Cover 2/man most of the game and brought a ton of pressure getting 8 sacks, open field tackles were good and they only looked confused a couple times when things went fast.

Much improvement in just 2 weeks since changes were made.

The most interesting aspect of the D on Saturday was who started at corner, Bonney/Boyd and Locke was at Nickle.

you have no clue about my work history...but I did stay at a holiday in express last week so that automatically makes me more qualified than Bedford. Plus...many, many years playing madden and ncaa football..PAY ME NOW.....but to be more grounded, the reason the secondary looked good was because the QB had no time to make a pass. When he did though, guy were running wide open. Lets see what this D does to a spread team like Baylor...then we will know for sure if its strong or the type of team we play.

Davis and Hill not starting was good for them, if they take it with a good attitude. Our defense played very well against a passing team that has put up a lot of points lately. When they get into the film room I hope the DBs get a ton of praise, sure they made some mistakes but there were a lot of positives also. Davis and Hill are our two most talented DBs, they need to get their heads on straight learn how to play their position and then you will see them back.

Same can be said for Burt, his biggest problem is confidence and concentration. He gets those back and he will be back to making those big plays he made as a freshman.
