I understand wanting immutable goals that, when they are not achieved, mean we have not had a successful season. And when taking the macro view of the program over many seasons, I agree with this line of thinking.
But there’s room for a micro view that considers only the current season that is played in the context of its specific variables.
Using the micro lens, 6-6 with a bowl game will be a successful season. We came into the season with limitations that injuries have magnified. It’s just not realistic to think this team can win 70 or 80 percent of its remaining games.
