the women's basketball team faces its first big test of the young season today as they travel to knoxville to take on the lady volunteers.
Texas is 4-0 and tennessee is 5-0.
Texas has not faced a quality opponent yet this year while the volunteers have played syracuse when syracuse was ranked #25. we'll see today where both teams really sit.
the game will be televised on espn, radioised locally on 104.9FM, and the online audio link is here.
2 things i've noticed thus far this year:
1) ariel atkins has not played a single minute. i don't know what's up with that. injury or otherwise. i would be super surprised if she was redshirting for some weird reason.
2) brady sanders is seeing far less playing time compared to previous years. this is her senior season but she is seeing about 10 minutes of court time. the 3rd wave of subs, if you will. again, i don't know what's up with that. could be injury. could be the team is super deep. could be Texas is trying to save her legs. or the new players are just better.
