It wasn't the most eventful day with most of today's practice devoted to install. The Texas commits on the West team (Kade Phillips, Kaliq Lockett, Daylan McCutcheon) all made some nice plays in the limited scrimmage work that they did, including a nice interception by Phillips on a deep post to end practice.
The highlight of the practice may have been a fight that broke out between an offensive lineman and a defensive lineman and Lockett's response ... (paraphrasing) "That thing was right in front of me but I'm not breaking that up. I'm too damn skinny."
Temple defensive end Jamarion Carlton tells me he has locked in a Texas visit for a junior day on January 25. He'll visit Florida State the week before Texas and USC the week after Texas.
Safety Bralon Womack recently dropped a top four of Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas A&M. He did say Texas is still in the mix and he wants to get out to UT for another visit. He's visited before and was supposed to come out to Austin a couple other times (including for the Kentucky game) but had to change his plans at the last minute. He said he'll try to get to UT this spring/summer so we'll see if Texas can climb into his top group.
