Lefau and Hill are going to start 20+ games together. It will start in 2024 after Ford leaves.

Hill had at least three sacks today coming from everywhere. Yep. Don’t put anything on his plate. Let him go forward shooting A, B and C gaps and wreck shop. He can worry about being a cerebral LB’er in January ‘24. How to slow down a freak? Put too much shit on their plate early. Just go forward young man.

Sydir Mitchell is going to be very good. Just hope he understands how incredibly important he is to the program moving forward. Texas needs to kill it on the interior DL in ‘24 recruiting. Arguably the biggest concern (not going into the season) looking forward.

Red… wish we could have seen him with the 1’s. Still think he ends up #3 when Brooks is fully back.

Blue… took advantage of this spring. He has even better hands if you were impressed with his running. In a worst case scenario (for him not Texas), some other program might throw some real NIL money at him. It’s going to be real interesting how this all shakes out once KRob is back in the mix too.

Baxter is going to be exceptional.

The running game this fall is going to benefit from an improved Ewers and when you put X, Mitchell, JWhitt and Sanders on the field… well, you won’t see what you saw against TCU last fall when we couldn’t separate or really threaten the field for most of 60 minutes. Yeah, that was a tough night for Bijan.

Muhammad and Cook… more young guys where football is really important to them and a priority. Cook is going to get meaningful time/snaps this fall… so will Moore. Brennan made a fatal mistake embracing track this spring. Then again maybe the two fish are just that good.

Good to see BJ Allen out there. Similar to RB, it’s going to be interesting how safety shakes out. Catalon didn’t dress and the light has gone on for Kitan Crawford.

Manning is very likely to be exceptional. However, he’s clearly number 2 behind Murphy. I don’t see that changing after fall camp. But, I wouldn’t bet against him either.

I was in the end zone for Murphy’s throw to Cook. Some of his earlier throws were Brett Favre like. Just a cannon.

Sark has had Palmer, Booty, Lienart and Sanchez in a five year stretch… Hurts, Tua, Jones and Young in a four year stretch. All number one picks except Booty (5th round). Let it play out, we’ve done the Morenz/Brown and Snead/McCoy dance before. The worst thing that will happen to Malik is that he’ll be top five portal target… likewise for Arch.

My overall feeling… we have a lot great competition in every position room. That’s EVERY ROOM. Competition is a coach’s best friend. Just keeping stacking classes. It’s been a long time since we’ve had first world problems around here on a yearly basis.

Finally, absolutely have to be in Dallas twice this fall at a minimum. If not, there will be some serious questions to be answered fo shizzle.
