I checked in with Rivals100 safety Chris Thompson's father today to get some thoughts on the official visit.

Mr. Thompson said they were "very impressed" with the visit and they have a good relationship with the UT staff (Craig Naivar and Tom Herman were specifically mentioned). They also got some time with Todd Orlando and talked academics on the visit.

Chris only has one other visit set up right now (Notre Dame in June) but is trying to work on setting up some others. Auburn, LSU, Georgia and Florida are possibilities for the three other visits.

My gut still tells me Texas is the team to beat (and I've heard from others this weekend went really well) but Mr. Thompson didn't want to go on record with any real detailed comments on a pecking order. There's been chatter that other schools have been floating around the idea that Chris has been silently committed to Texas (he's not) ... Mr. Thompson said he has no idea where that stuff is coming from, but confirmed that Chris is still very much weighing his options.

Good visit overall and the Longhorns are in a good spot here, but Chris will continue to take other visits before coming to a final decision.
