Kind of a weird question, but I'm curious to how the board would see this situation involving a couple of friends that live in Vietnam these days.
I notice that a friend's wife is turning 40 this weekend, so I ask him what they've got planned to celebrate.
"She's away with her friends."
I didn't really press the matter at all, but it seemed kind of odd to me.
a. On one hand, hey, more power to his wife if she wants to rage with her friends and she has a husband that's cool with that since it's her night.
b. Isn't the 40th birthday kind of a big one? I can't think of any friends off the top of my head that were married that didn't have sort of something planned together, whether it's a big party, a trip of whatever.
Am I just blind to a usual event?
Does your opinion change at all if there's even a sliver of marital un-bliss, with the admission tha every marriage has some un-bliss?
