Obviously we simply enjoy watching the games but March Madness is also entertaining in that it can be a very public interview for coaches, particularly those on the rise. I don’t know a shit ton of HCs at the 68 schools but a couple of names who IMO could really open some eyes are South Carolina’s Lamont Paris and Washington State’s Kyle Smith.
Paris spent 20 seasons toiling as an assistant including 5 under Bo Ryan at Wisky. Nice job at Chattanooga and a terrific year 2 at South Carolina.
Meanwhile Kyle Smith has succeeded at Columbia, USF and now Wazzou. Honestly, Wazzou might be a top 5 P5 job in terms of hardest to win. But if you look at their history, guys who have managed to have success there, such as Kelvin Sampson and Tony Bennett Jr, has success in subsequent jobs.
Any other names to watch?
