Austin Westlake OL Stephan Zabie met with Charlie Strong earlier today. Zabie told me Texas has been in contact for a while, but things have picked up of late. No offer was extended or anything, but he did meet with Strong and is squarely on UT's radar.
The 6-6, 290-pound Zabie is a four-star prospect and holds about 20 offers from the likes of Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Southern Cal.
Earlier this week, Zabie's appeal to the UIL over their "four-year rule" was denied, meaning he won't be playing for Westlake this year. I asked Zabie what his next step was and he told me he and his family are exploring all options but he didn't really have any details. In the meantime, he's just working out and trying to stay in shape.
