For those that have seen my posts, they know all I am doing is trying to supply some transparency to some of the things that are happening right now.

I have been on call with school boards so I have some knowledge into this and several posters on here are looking up the wrong stats. The reason schools are being given recommendations to hold off on re-initiating in-person learning in the fall has very very little to do with the kids and the teachers. The big concern is that kids will pass this virus to each other and then bring it home to families.

I have said numerous times, one of the big the problems with this virus is that we are seeing whole families come to the hospital, not just one person or family member. A lot of that has to do with the fact that your immune system is going to be most similar to the people you live with because you encounter and share the same bugs for the most part. We had 6 family members from one family all in our facility at one point. Source was a 6 year old at a family gathering of 20-25 people as all the adults had been quarantining except 3 children had been having play dates. One child needed one day in the hospital, the other two were fine. However 80% of the adults that attended spent at least 3 nights in the hospital, 4 requiring ICU level care. There are some very "sketchy" reports of children not being vectors but there is strong anecdotal evidence against this, as well as evidence of children getting sick from coronavirus even if it is minor for the most part.

I am not arguing for or against kids being in schools this fall and I could not imagine what to do with a 4-8 year old or how to begin to find out how to teach them at home. I am just trying to give some transparency behind some of the school districts' decisions. The biggest concern for those recommending keeping kids out of schools is kids bringing the virus home.

i'll try to reply back as I get time
