Governor Abbott just announced that they are proposing a new legislative action to ensure cities in Texas can no longer defund Police Departments. The legislative action states that any city that attempts to defund their Police Department will have their Property Tax revenue frozen at the current level and will never be able to increase Property Tax again to fund new projects.
