So we spent the first half of the week talking crap and how sucky refs can be. So how about we talk about what we think is really going to happen.
What is your comfort level of this game? I feel we have not played well the last 2 games..real games and not New Mexico St. I’m hoping the energy of the crowd and playing Texas will wake us up.

I think several things have to happen for us to win.
1. I’m nervous about the speed of the Texas offense in regards to the receivers. A&M WILL allow receivers to run open at times and the deep ball will be there for Texas a time or 2. Texas runs a ton of motion and misdirection so eye discipline is huge in this game..just do your jobs.
2. If we don’t pressure Quinn he can absolutely pick you apart and is extremely accurate with time. I worry about the quick passes and slants to bait you in and then bang..the deep ball.
3. Texas comes out fast and we have been starting slow. This CAN’T happen like it has against Texas.
4. I think the Texas defense is good. I don’t think we can go right at them. Not having Moss is a big deal as Daniels is just not a power back that can wear on a defense. We are going to have to be able to throw the ball some to have a shot. Also, we have been predictable on offense and Klein has to mix it up a bit more.

What I like if it goes well:
1. Quinn has shown to crap his pants with pressure against Georgia, Vandy and Arkansas. Our defense can dial up a lot of pressure and if we can keep Texas behind the chains then we have a chance to dial it up but we can’t just put pressure on 3rd and long. It has to be random at times as well. We need to hit Quinn.. a lot
2. If we can withstand the early rush by the offense(I do think Texas scripts well early) the offense seems to have periods where it sputters.
3. If we keep it close early and make it a 4th quarter game I like our chances with the crowd. This game should be rocking.

Overall I think Texas is the better team. If both teams play an A+ game I think you win. If you play an A and we play an A+ game I think we can win. We need a few breaks to go our way. We need a special teams play, win the turnover battle, get a couple of short fields or have a couple of explosive plays which you don’t give up often.
I’ll be headed to the game Saturday morning to take it all in with 2 of my sons, so I’m excited about that. I hope it’s an epic game with the Ags coming out in top! Anyone here making the trip?

It comes down to the health of our QB.

You have a top 25 defense. We have a top 2 defense.

Your offense is spotty at times. Our has sputtered of late.

Your secondary is average, your run defense is top 10.

Our secondary is the best in the country and our run defense is top 3.

I look for a low scoring game.

I look for your defense to blitz damn near every play. I look for them to show blitz on every play.

If Ewers can complete passes at a 70% clip- you're fvcked. 20/28 for 250 sends you home with a double digit loss.

If you can put him on the ground- make him make bad throws, cause a couple of turnovers, you'll put yourself in a spot to win.

Your only chance to run the football is the RPO. Your QB has good feet and decent speed. Try running AT us and you're fvcked. You're going to have to force us to respect the running QB and run at our edges-- not outside- just at the edges.
A counter or two would help you. Get our LBs moving one way- run back the other way.
Wouldn't surprise me if you went with a shovel pass screen at some point.
You'll need to go 50%+ on 3rd down to win.
You'll need to rush for ~200 to win.
You'll also need to win the turnover battle.

Very fair assessment and yes, refs have been terrible for everyone across the board.

I'm excited that both teams have something to play for other than bragging rights. Both teams are elite in the trenches.

I think Texas has to get a cushion early because the Ags rush attack will wear dudes out come late game. Surely y'all will slip a few bigs ones through. Honestly, I think everything depends on Ewers performance which has been inconsistent as of late. Sark needs to run a similar gameplan as vs Michigan's defense, side to side to try and tire some legs.
I really wouldn't be surprised to see this game go any which way.

Love you guys as family, hate yer asses on the field. It's going to be a good one.

Ewers needs to play efficient mistake free football. It’s going to boil down to turnovers. If Ewers throws an early interception or fumbles early we’re fvcked. If we can get at least three TD scores and not turn it over we win. Our defense isn’t giving up more than 20 points unless we turn it over and give the Aggies short fields to operate.

Aggies are likely to use the Georgia blueprint with heavy blitzes so hopefully Sark and Ewers will be ready to counter that strategy.

I believe we win but with any rivalry game the won/loss records are out the window. Anything can happen.

Love all my Aggie friends and family except for a couple hours on Saturday.

Hook em!!

I still maintain that whenever a&m puts these creepy dorks in the shadows and showcase real cheerleader, they will win a national title. Until then, fogetaboutit.

Is anyone alive today that witnessed the last time that the Texas A&M football team won the College football national championship? 😎

One big intangible for me. It's a big game for is but it's more than just a big game for a&m. If they get up early they can get their crowd worked up and their team can feed off that energy and that concerns me.
