Ran to the store this morning while my wife is home with our two month old and ran into an older aggy who graduated in 1968. I have my Texas shirt on, don’t say anything to this guy and he comes up to ask if I’m a real Texas fan or one of those fake ones. I explain that my first football memory is of watching Ricky break Dorsett’s NCAA rushing record against Anm back in 1998 with my father. He then says Texas hasn’t won anything of significance recently and doesn’t win at the rate they once did. I just say two awful coaching hires in a row will do that to a program but aggy hasn’t competed for a championship since the Spanish civil war ended. He just shakes his head and walks off with his wife.
