Aggy ducks Tech in Houston

It appears aggy (sec commissioner) have yet again conspired to send aggy waaaaaaay far away to Nashville to play lowly Louisville instead of their own back yard in Houston to play Tech.

Aggy will say, "the payout is higher!" And it is by a few hundred grand that would be saved by bussing kids and equipment to Houston vs flying it all to Nashville. Couple that with their next excuse (similar to last year's excuse) "we started our season off in that stadium, we don't want to end it there." If you remember last year's BS excuse it was "we start next season in that stadium, why would we want to play back to back games there?".........WTF?

Let's just call it what it is aggy. You and your puppet master want to keep the facade going that you're a superior team that plays in a superior conference. The only way to keep that lie going is to not allow you to play any of your old swc or Big 12 rivals anytime soon. After your win over OU, the sec powers that be are going to point to "scoreboard" vs big 12 for as long as they can.

I believe the idea is that Lowly Louisville isn't in the Big XII, therefore no opportunity for a Big XII team to kick the Aggies' tail in a Bowl game.

It really wouldn't matter if the matchup were Louisville, Clemson or Michigan State. The story would be that the Aggies were conspiring with the SEC to duck their former Big XII mates.
 
Looks like LSU/TT matchup. DO you guys think the Tigers have any chance to win? As a LSU fan I'm proud that we are playing a Big 12 team in Houston. I think it helps in recruiting for LSU to play in Texas.

I think LSU should roll if you keep it on the ground. I realize that you're offensively challenged (not as much as we are, though), but Tech's defense this year is worse than awful, giving up nearly 43 points per game. Half of their opponents have run for 300+ yards. You have the defense to stop them a few times, and they won't be able to stop Fournette nearly often enough.

No disrespect to Louisville, but yes pushup man was correct. SEC commissioner knows Tech will have their hands full with LSU and aggy would get 700 yards offense peed on their head by tech. So send a better D to play Tech and a better O to play Louisville. It's not rocket science.

Cool, since we left we are 2-0 against the Big 12. We hammered OU and beat West Virginia. We have scoreboard over Big 12 since we left. Why can't you get it through your head that a mediocre Tech team isn't that scary for teams?? Glad you can be critical of other teams when you aren't even bowl eligible. Enjoy the holiday season from the sidelines watching others play.

This is true. The $EC keeps an iron fist on selecting the best bowl match ups every year. It's part of their propaganda machine. They know Tech would give aggy a hard time. Tech always did.

Doc, you beat OU, congrats, that was a legit win over a decent team. You had (according to most ags) the best player you've ever had (johnny cokehead) and without a doubt the best wr, and offensive tackles that have ever donned an aggy jersey. Props to you.

You beat a WVU team BARELY, and I mean by the skin of your teeth, that was playing a back up qb that had all of 30 pass attempts in college. They still took you to the wire with Clint Trickett. Clint freaking Trickett. After that game the commission went, "OK aggy, no more for you" and you've ducked the big 12 since. Better to walk away from the poker table with a winning hand than keep going back and risk a loss.

I must make an ammendation to my previous post, the Houston bowl DOES pay more than the music city bowl, and you pooosays are flying to Nashville to play in that bowl verses going to houston and playing in front of a home crowd for more money.

The level of pooosay this is just flabbergasts me. With regard to your jab at us staying at home this year: hey cockag, you're talking to one of the only posters on here that said we wouldn't make a bowl game this year....... consider that put in your pipe and smoked. And just to exercise my pimp hand even more, the excuse your AD gave last year about not playing in the Houston bowl at the end of the year because you were starting the season off next year at the same stadium ranks right up there with the following lies:

1. The check is in the mail
2. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky
3. I'll only put the tip in
4. I never took performance enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France

Again, you're addressing me. Not everyone else. I was the OP, and I'm sure you've read my posts about this team in the past. No bowl was expected by me. So be a man and talk to me, not to "everybody else". Now back to your other comment:

Riding coat tails? That's your job. Bama, LSU, SEC: get on with your bad self about coat tail riding. I'm simply pointed out a fact well known by every college football fan, including those in your own conference. You girls made BS excuses for not going to the Texas bowl last year, and you've done the same this year. You know why you want to duck Tech. We all do. Fear of losing your facade that you've built. Deal with it bro. We'll all respect you more if you just own it.

I never understood why texas a$m never allowed girls in for all those years. Well now I know. It seems the whole school was nothing but a bunch of girls.

No offense to all those girls who have bigger balls than these aggsy.

LSU will be the best defense Tech has played this year. I think Tech will be held under 28 points. I'm pretty sure Fournette will score four TDs himself and hit 300 yards in this easy win.

Aggy could beat tech and yall crushed aggy. Heck, we almost beat Tech!

Clob94. We don't want to play Texas Big12 teams due to risk vs. reward. If we beat tech, no big deal. If tech beats us, it would be a perception killer. Both teams are pretty bad, so who knows who would win. I see why Big12 teams would want to play us, and why we would not want to play them. I do wonder if this is a&m avoiding the Big12 or the conference office seating up matchups. I really don't think we have enough pull to pick our opponent, but not sure.

MM42, you are spot on. Kudos to you for acknowledging what's happening. Kudos to the SEC commissioner for being able to seed your bowl teams with favorable match ups. Kudos for understanding why. I can assure you prior to the bowl bid announcement the conference commissioner pays a courtesy call to each AD to inform them of the bowl possibilities available to each team and asks for input. Ultimately it's his choice, but I would imagine he takes into account (at least a little) the opinion of each schools AD.

See Mike, docag, it's not that difficult to acknowledge. Everyone else in the college football landscape sees it happening. You see it happening. You may pretend to be naive but you're not stupid. Your AD knows he has almost nothing to gain by playing an old SWC or old Big 12 rival, and so much to lose.

I don't think it has to do with favorable matchups, IMO Tech is a much easier win for us as they do nothing that really presents a bad matchup for us. However if you want to argue we have nothing to gain from not playing and beating Tech that's fine, I get it. A loss to Tech although unlikely would do far more harm than a win would do good for us.
 
Bowl games are pointless. Just gives us something to talk about and compare conferences. I don't like LSU coming into the state, but I bet their fans didn't want to go back to the same bowl they just came from.

Most of you on this board started by our old friend Bomb said Trickett was a better quarterback because of his duel threat. The point is, our defense is better set up to stop Tech than it is Louisville. I'd rather defend the pass any day with our porous run defense. Everyone here on this board could care less to face the Ags and most people have said the same thing in Lubbock, Waco, etc. You guys don't want to play us, and we could care less to play any of you either.

Just cause aggys ride coat tails then and now doesn't mean everyone does. We could CARE LESS if you hold scoreboard over every big 12 team. You don't hold it over us!!
