I spoke to a source moment ago who confirmed that the conversations that need to take place between Texas higher-ups has already taken place. It looks like the decision to make a change at head coach was an easy conclusion to reach and I would be very surprised at this point if there's not an announcement before tomorrow morning at the absolute latest.
It's a chief concern for everyone that Strong be allowed to exit with as much grace and class as possible, so I think it's simply a matter of working with him to come up with the cleanest execution of the exit possible.
Everyone keep their heads on a swivel because this thing could be over in a matter of hours minutes or seconds.
4:30 p.m. update - The team mete earlier this afternoon and I was told by a team source that the team is scheduled to have a full team dinner tonight at 5 p.m. at the UT Club in the stadium.
I asked my source is this was a "normal" dinner.
"No."
Perhaps it's moved up because of the short week?
"No."
Apparently, the team usually gets together for dinner on Tuesdays with their position coaches but this one is not on the normal schedule.
I'm not sure what will be discussed at the meeting and am not making any wild predictions, just giving you the information I have right now. Stay tuned. .
