An early look at this week's title games

Well let's see

TCU lost by 24
Auburn lost by 21
Miami is behind 21/0 midway through the second quarter.
The allegedly #1 ranked WI defense had given up three plays of at least 57 yards. And it's early in the second quarter. In NC and IN the rout is on. What does this tell me? Well the only good title game involved the one conference that will not be in the playoffs lol.

Oh one last thing. It is all too obvious that the little ten west division is inferior to the east division. It really is starting to pi** me off that the best team in that division skates through the season and when they finally play someone good you see something like tOSU/WI. And yet WI will back door their way into a P6 bowl game.

Just like last year.

You know I'm thinking if Auburn can lose by 21, if Miami is behind 38/0 in the third quarter, maybe TCU can still get in a P6 bowl game. Because it's a certainty that Miami and Auburn will be in them.

When it was time to get serious tOSU stopped pussyfooting around and sealed the deal. My guess is in order it will be

Clemson
Georgia
Oklahoma
tOSU

I think the RB has the one four ranked teams
Which means the SB gets two and three

Does Ohio State get in or Alabama?
tOSU advantages over Bama
Strength of schedule
Conference Champs

Bama advantages over tOSU
only 1: tOSU lost by 31 points to Iowa.

On Fox after the game, one of them said that bama passes the eye test more than tOSU, but tOSU has a better resume. Made sense to me. I don't think I care who gets to go, but, I am curious to see how the determination is made. If I were a betting man, I say tOSU gets in because they are conference champs and it looks better for the committee to not have two teams from the same conference.

I don’t put as much weight on the “eye test” as I do to answering this question, which team is better now?

As much as I hate the $EC and Alabama, they deserve to get in over Ohio State. OSU has two blow out losses - at home to 0U and at Iowa. Bama lost a fairly close one to arch rival Auburn on the road. The thought of two $EC teams in the flawed 4-team playoffs makes my skin crawl though. To be fair, IF Alabama makes the playoff, them and Georgia should be paired up in the first round so that there isn't potentially an all $EC final. They do need to fix the playoff structure to have 8 teams in it.

TCU was manhandled by OU again. Patterson personally handed Mayfield the Heisman. OU has to be considered QB U of the modern era at least.

Meh, sure 0U has had some good college QB's, but none of them move on to the NFL and find success. Mayfield will be the landslide winner of the Heisman this year, but you watch, he won't do squat in the NFL.

I also watched SVP interview Jonathon Vilma regarding this. I was impressed with his answer. He said definitively, Alabama. Because all year long they dominated every single team they beat except, lost to their rival. In addition, he said that all year long everybody that saw Alabama play could honestly say "This is probably the best team in the country" He then countered saying (paraphrasing), I don't think at any point in time did anybody think tOSU was the best team. That there was never any doubt (through any point in the year) that they weren't the best team in the land while many thought that Alabama was. I am honestly glad football season is practically over and can spend more time to my family and not plan everything around the Texas games. I am an 8 team proponent, so I hope this stirs up the hornets nest by those rabid bama/tOsu fans.

NFL is that it. What does that have to do with Oklahoma having three Heisman quarterbacks in the big 12 history? Baker has been counted out since high school. They should the big 12 trophy to the Bob Stoops trophy. I saw on SS a poster said Baker was from Westlake. I hope someone over there is smart enough to correct him. The old we will never win with Mike Stoops crowd is on top of it.
