Liberal and conservative are such twisted words right now that for purposes of discussion I would like to say I am liberal as were our founders. Liberal is belief in reason, rule of law, private contracts, rights of man with regards to government as it pertains to his rights versus the government (speech, religion, assembly, search and seizure, press, etc.), strong enough governments to enforce rule of law and private contracts.
Sullivan is a self described conservative but he is a liberal. He voted for Obama twice and Kerry.
