Just seen it on Twitter. He said “it has nothing to do with anyone or anything.” Whatever in the hell that means.
AUSTIN – Former five-star recruit Anthony Cook on Thursday said he “won’t play another snap for the University of Texas.”
In a tweet, thethird-year defensive back said the decision had “nothing to do with anyone or anything." He added: "Please respect my decision."
The sudden decision by a potential starter is surprising, especially given how well regarded Cook was as a star at Houston Lamar. He was a U.S. Army All-American ranked No. 7 in the state and No. 10 among defensive backs, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He was also a near-consensus top-10 cornerback.Over two seasons at Texas Cook played in 25 games with seven career starts, six of which came last season. He recorded 42 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and three pass deflections.

Cook was ranked as a top 100 national recruit out of Houston Lamar in the class of 2018. He started one game as a freshman and six last season, recording 24 tackles and two pass breakups with one forced fumble. Cook had six tackles (four unassisted) in the Alamo Bowl upset of Utah.

This season is going to be a cluster for all teams. Between not being able to work out and practice and players randomly sidelined because they catch COVID to players protesting and not wanting to play. To tell you the truth I can't even get excited about it this year. Whatever.

Just heard from a guy who has some ties inside of Bellmont that says that Cook is in the process of trying to wipe the slate clean and stay in the program. Let's see if he might be staying.
If he does it once , he will do it again...let him go..i hate quitters with big mouths...
Just let him go. Makes no difference anyways since he's probably been too focused on police brutality in America. Football may not be important to him anymore.
